I did some baking yesterday, something I love do on chilly autumn days. The smell of cinnamon wafted through my kitchen to permeate my home with a sense of comfort and gratitude.
I am beyond thankful for the many, many good things in my life. Clients and colleagues who have become friends. Work that is meaningful and will help to broaden understanding of those who have struggled and/or sacrificed. My family, biological and chosen, of course. And the ability to gather together over the holidays again this year. We will have one notable absence this year, my mom who passed away in February, though I know she will be with us in our collective memory and in the stories we tell.
This is the time of year that we end conversations, whether virtual or in-person, by wishing one another a Happy Thanksgiving. I challenge you to take time each day throughout the year to give thanks for at least one small thing.
What are you thankful for today?
